ABC Wednesday: Letter L for laptop

http://abcwednesdayround3.blogspot.com/

ABC Wednesday for letter L, L for laptops or rather Laptop thefts.

Laptop are easy pickings, according to the New Zealand police. They are easy to lift and walk off. We lost a laptop when it was placed on the table and the thieves just pulled the table slowly towards the window. A friend left her laptop in her car for less than ten minutes. It was gone when she came back.

The following is a public appeal by a student of an institution, and how though there is CCTV, the thieves were so blatant in their dastardly act. The woman was dressed in a special ethnic dress which makes her stand up like a sore thumb.

Dear fellow mates,

On 2 October 2009, Friday at about 1-2pm in the library, my laptop was stolen.

On my part, I should have been more careful in not leaving my laptop unattended. After approaching the library staff, they accessed the CCTV footage and we managed to see who the thieves were.

If you look at picture 1, you can see a lady in a pink headscarf. She is at my desk unplugging my laptop.

In picture 2, she has passed the laptop to the accomplice in striped shirt and white shoes.

In another CCTV frame, the guy looked like he was carrying a black laptop XXX bag that was given to us during registration. (picture 3) From this, we assume he is from XXX.

I have already made a police report and they are doing the best they can.

In the meantime, I would very much appreciate if you could forward this email to your XXX classmates in hope for identification.

If you do find the people in the pictures familiar. Please call me (SSS) at _________.

Please forward this to your friends in other classes.

Thank you all very much for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Even lap top left in cars can be stolen! with such expensive gadget, one cannot even leave it alone for even a second! not only laptop, even handphone, wallets....

That is a shame. Sorry. Maybe you needed to be more vigilant, but that hardly justifies the theft.
