ABC Wednesday: letter W for warm fuzzy feeling

I am still having that warm fuzzy feeling. I was very very lucky. I was there at the right place and right time. Friends asked how I got a Government Minister to be my guest of honour.

With YB Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh at Ann Chin's Book Launch at RH Hotel today.

Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh offered to be my VVIP guest. I wrote to him, as his student if the Government had funding to aspiring writers, and the rest is history. He was proud to be my teacher, and I had done him proud.

Francis Chen very happily helped me with the logistics and my Chinese MC. When my Malay and English MC couldn't make it, John Benet stepped it.

Who could dream that my book launch was such a Ministerial affair and my own clan people organising it. Thank you Mr. Kong Tze Ling.

Chinese Wedding Tea Serving ceremony.

My niece Katie's wedding in June 2013. Katie is half Chinese, and half Australian. Her groom is Australian. Kate researched and chose to do a Chinese Wedding Tea Serving ceremony. It was wonderful.  A eye opening to all the guests and Chinese too. She chose me to help her pour  the little cups.

ABC Wednesday: W for woolly craft.

Knitted woolly hand puppet I saw at the Waitakere information centre.

My handsome guide, Robin telling me about these woolly poles. Cheeky me, I coaxed him to let me take his photo. I told him, we were outside the shop. They call this yarn bombing
New Zealand has more sheep that humans, naturally we have a lot of wool.

We even wrap our poles to keep them warm.

Here are the woollypoles, there were a lot of them.

The Devonport Arts Festival took place 17–25 November 2012. The Woollypoles were installed on Saturday 17 November.

1. You can knit or crochet.

2. Your piece needs to be 37cm wide x any length.

3. Choose one colour for your artwork (not black, white or brown).

4. Feel free to use any type of yarn in as many shades of your colour as you like.
You can make stripes or patterns, but please stay within your colour.
No multi-coloured pieces, please.

5. Lettering and/or embellishments can be in another colour, the complementary colour is recommended. All poles are vertical, if that has an impact on your design.

We are a nation of knitters. My daughter is now knitting like crazy. I have stop to blog and write.

Thursday Challenge : water

We took our ESOL students to see where our water comes from, but it was pouring and misty. The water seem calm, not choppy.

Yellow and red macaron

A macaron is a sweet meringue-based confection made with eggs, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food colouring. Very popular with cooking competition, but sorry, I refuse to eat them, all the sugar and food colouring. I did try a little bit from my grand niece in Australia. These ones too were photographed in Oz, in Melbourne casino building.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icefall

The Khumbu Icefall is an icefall at the head of the Khumbu Glacier. The icefall is found at 5,486 metres (17,999 ft) on the Nepali slopes of Mount Everest not far above Base Camp and southwest of the summit. The icefall is regarded as one of the most dangerous stages of the South Col route to Everest's summit.[1] The Khumbu glacier that forms the icefall moves at such speed that large crevasses open with little warning. The large towers of ice or seracs found at the icefall have been known to collapse suddenly.
