Photohunt: Quaggy

I took the kids to a muddy mangrove swamp. Some were sensible and wore gum boots.I wore my brown trekking shoes. I had to look up google again, to find out the meaning of quaggy.

Marshy like the mangrove swamp.

Red: beetroot juice

Beet root is one of the richest dietary sources of antioxidants
and nitrates

one cup of beetroot juice may lower your blood pressure according to researchers in the UK. The study, funded by The British Heart Foundation, and published in the American Heart Association journal Hypertension

Beet root juice may improve blood pressure and blood flow

throughout the body, including the brain, heart, muscles, and

Beetroots naturally containing high levels of nitrate, and it

performs its alchemy by increasing the levels of the gas nitric oxide in the circulation. The gas is said to relax and widen the blood vessels and thereby aid blood flow.

Photohunt: Copper

I cheated, this is a copper coloured rosette.
10 cents copper coins. In New Zealand, we use the Eftpos so much that I hardly use coins or notes.

ABC letter S: sportsman, Snakes and snake catcher

This is my very sports talented nephew Chai Song Lip. The sports writers dubbed him the leaping lizard. Once he won the Sportsman of the year. His forte was triple jump. I am a very proud aunt.

Song Lip lives in sunny Australia. One day, a snake visited his garage.

Song Lip is helping the snake catcher.

The snake catcher caught the snake, and took it away in a sack. She released it in the bush. This is for my save the world theme.

mondaymellowyellows: surfing

The water was cold in the Autumn Gold Coast. I didn't go for a swim. I prefer summer where one can do paddle surfing and don't have to get wet.

Photohunting: Glass

see the picnic basket with the red plate?

Katie's wedding was held at Sanctuary Cove, on the Gold Coast. There were a lot of glass, and my brother Joseph joked they were diamonds.

After the wedding service, the bridal party went down to the garden for their photo shoot. We were upstairs having drinks and snacks. I took these photos through the glass windows. I also wanted to record them enjoying the picnic Elizabeth and I made for them, and the drinks Henry, Kalang and Kee Yong bought.

If you can't see the picnic basket, it is glass window's fault.

ABC : Letter R for ribbon candy, report, remark, research, reply, read

Went to Harbour town on Surfers paradise, these ribbons are a child's paradise.  For my save the world theme, it would be a nightmare for parents to drag a kid away without buying these.

Incidentally yesterday, a certain Mr. Roper made a comment on one of my blogs and remarked that I didn't research it and made a sweeping report. Unfortunately I could not reply his comment because he was not a blogger like you and me. He did however have a hyperlink and I wrote to the corporation. They denied he was an employee.

This is the essence of it, I post it just in case you like to read it.

Hi Maria,
Noted on this...

Dear Group STI,

A Mr. Buss Roper posted this comment below on my blog with a hyperlink to you, I presume he is an employee of yours.

I am bemused by his comment. No where in my post did I say, " that sugar leads to any disease, even obesity." On the contrary, my family is into growing sugar canes for part of the income."

If Mr. Roper had read carefully, he would have read that in Malaysia and Singapore, people consume a lot of fresh sugar cane juice. Once it was suspected that the canes were left standing on the market stall floor. The fibrous/porous cane sucked up the water and detergent when the cleaners cleaned the stalls in the evening. This practice is still done in Malaysia. In Singapore, this practice is stopped, and canes are cut into manageable lengths and left on the counter.

Mr Roper doesn't not allow me to direct my reply, so I am sending this to you.

Buss Roper has left a new comment on your post "Save the world: sugar cane":

Sugar industry, incredibly, insists that once you look at the research, no expert says that sugar leads to any disease, even obesity.

Weekend Reflection: Houses of the rich.

When my younger brother Joseph was born,
It was the day the Kitchen God went up to Heaven.
The Kitchen God was rich and had plenty to eat.
Everyone has to be good to him,
For he reports to the Heavenly King,
All that the family had done for the year.

Joseph was our Little Kitchen God.
Joseph was born in a brick house.
Grandfather Chan said, "Joseph is going to be a rich man."
His prediction came true.

My first week in Australia,
I stayed with Joseph and Audrey.
The Little Kitchern had done good.
I took this photo standing on his private jetty.
The private lake and the private island were perfect for my theme.
