Skywatch Friday: Clouds, clouds and more clouds

You can't see the sky today. It was covered with grey clouds.

On my door, you see this sticker which tells unwanted visitor that I am a member of the neighbourhood watch. In New Zealand, the residents and the police join hand in hand in this neighbourhood support. Burglars beware, my neighbours and I are nosy parkers. We mind each others' business.

There's nothing much to sing about the weather unless you like to sing in the rain. There was so much rain, and the Sky Tower was shrouded by clouds.

I went to see the faces behind the sign I have at my door. The neighbourhood support sign. Johannes came to my site as he was interested in using one of my photos I had of my community. He invited me to meet with him. It was drizzling, but heavy enough to get my hair wet.

There, he introduced me to Barry Hyde, the Community Liaison of the New Zealand Police who is also the Chairman, Avon Lines, the Deputy Chairperson and Johannes Dimyadi, the editor of Neighbourhood Support New Zealand

Neighbourhood Support works closely with the Police and many other organisations in your community to reduce crime, improve safety and prepare to deal with emergencies and natural disasters.
Aims

Neighbourhood Support aims to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and more caring places in which to live.

Ka pai, paki paki or good job to Barry, Avon and Johannes.

I like the picture of your sign. We have Neighborhood Watch, too. I would love to know the statistics on how much it helps keep crime down.

The neighborhood watch program is tremendously effective! Good for you. Yes, those rainy spells make us long for the sun!

Sometimes the sky is blue and then turns to gray but there is still beauty in the day anyway.

I have never been to New Zealand. In fact, my only trip to the southern hemisphere was Brazil. But I do hope to get down your way one of these days. :)

Sorry that your skies are gray. Wish I could share some of our blue with you. :)

Great post, Ann. We live in a very close neighborhood and while there is no organized Neighborhood Watch, everyone does keep a good watch on their neighbors. I do wish I could send you some of our lovely blue skies! Have a great weekend!

The invisible sky, nice interesting post for today. Sometimes the beauty of the sky is not above but seen in the backdrop. Hope you had a nice weekend.

Your blog is an interesting example of the saying, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Good one, Ann.

Hi Ann; One to many clouds for a sunny holiday! I think there is Neighbourhood Watch here in the suburbs. Not where I live, as the houses are to far apart from each other. It does not mean there is no burglary. The houses of two of my neighbours have been burgled one of them twice. Despite a dog, which is so friendly he practically invites everyone into the house! Luckily ours has not been touched, our security installation has a very good reputation. The petty thieves do not touch it. Anyway I hope it never happens. Otherwise I have not heard of other burglaries on this estate and there are many houses in this park like area.

Very nice job for today. We have one of those neighbor watches in our neighborhood. They tell us it has helped, but we still have to be careful.
