ABC Wednesday, Thursday Theme Song: Teddy
http://abcwednesdayround3.blogspot.com/
hootin--anni has a new meme.
IT'S ALL ABOUT MY NEW MEME THAT I HOPE SOME WILL FEEL LIKE JOINING IN ON THE CHALLENGE AND THE FUN [at least I hope the weekly challenge will be fun!]. It's loosely based on song lyrics [recorded songs since the beginning of time to today] and associating them with photos of yours...as I've done in the past...If you click on the link above, it'll take you to the Meme's Homepage for rules and buttons. There will be a Mr. Linky Widget for each individual week also. Do consider joining me sometime. Hope to see it flourish in time.

It is summer, and the teddies are out to play. What is better than going to Christmas in Rocket for a picnic. The organisers, ( Mt Albert Baptist Church) even had a prize for the cutest bear.
My oldest daughter used to sing this song.
The Teddy Bear's Picnic
By Jimmy Kennedy
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.
For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.
Ev'ry teddy bear who's been good
Is sure of a treat today.
There's lots of marvelous things to eat
And wonderful games to play.
Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Cause that's the way the teddy bears have their picnic.
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today
But safer to stay at home.
For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.
Picnic time for teddy bears
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today
Watch them, catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily gad about
They love to play and shout;
They never have any care;
At six o'clock their mummies and daddies,
Will take them home to bed,
Because they're tired little teddy bears.

I have not gone to the woods today because it is Tuesday today.
But it is no harm to sing along with you.
Speaking of singing - check this out!
;-D
The teddies here are cute. I never had one when I was little but my children have many.
So cute! Never had one..:-)
Very cute meme, Ann, and you are so creative when doing it.... Love the little teddy bears --and I love that song... You did GREAT.
Hugs,
Betsy
Your bears are festive looking for Christmas. What a coincidence, I love this song and have recently printed out the lyrics to read to the girls!! I Just read your post below, I am glad that you met this nurse, perhaps it is yet another good sign that you need to write this book, you think?
No Teddy Bear for me when i was young only a Golliwog. You can't buy them anymore because they're politically incorrect. Some people are real party poopers.
I STILL have teddy bears, and they are NOT my daughter's.
When I saw the topic, I immediately thought of Elvis.
What a lovely song, Ann! Great idea to introduce a new meme.
Thanks for your visit.
You asked about the producer of "Cockatoo" by Roy McIver. It is
Magabala Books Aboriginal Corporation.
Website:www.magabala.com
My daughter only wrote down Roy's words.
Teddy bears are special friends a child can share everything with.
Delightful song as well, Ann.
Hugs and happiness,
Pam
My children would ave loved this one!
Being a Canadian, I've heard a lot of Anne Murray, but this one, never! :-D Teddy is a good T word, even if I did not have one as a kid.
Love the teddy bears and the song, think I'll sing along!! Fun post for the day, Ann! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!
Sylvia
Teddy is a good one for the letter T.
Thanks for visiting mine and in answer to your question, I call a small segment of my garden the bathroom garden because I planted a garden there after the bathroom repairmen killed the grass by piling up old fixtures and materials there. I'm sure I wasn't clear but the nickname is a joke. I do actually have an outdoor shower on my deck for cleaning up before going inside from working in the garden.
My mom used to sing the Teddy Bear song as well. I think the teddies look very festive, all dressed up for a picnic.
I remember this song very well. You captured some good-looking Teddy Bears for this post.
Interesting song. Never heard it before. Is it a nursery rhyme?

I LOVE teddy bear picnic, and I haven't heard her sing this song in ages. Wonderful. The photos you've shared are so very fitting for the lyrics.
Lovely post for T day! The Teddy bears are so cute!
Thanks for sharing;o)

Have a beautiful weekend****
Love it! The local Children's museum has a Teddy Bear Tea. It how I got an idea for Hope's birthday.
Ann, we played the song at Hope's birthday! It was in her recital this year. She loved the song. I also played, Teddy Bear by Elvis and I Wish I was a Teddy Bear.
