Skywatch Friday: First day of Winter

http://skyley.blogspot.com/

Here in the Southern Hemisphere, winter has officially arrived. We have had wet weather. This Monday, we are celebrating the Queen's birthday. But the skies are not celebrating with us. It is forecast to be wet, wet and more wet.
I took this photo on my way to school. I tell myself to remember to turn off the lights.

Hi Ann
We celebrate the Queen's birthday one week after you in Australia. I wonder why that is. But as for you, our skies are grey and filled with much needed rain.

It's cold but I'm not complaining. We need the 'wet, wet and more wet'.

I recognize that kind of sky, and all that goes with it. I hope you get less snow than we did last winter (1+ meter)

This is going to be a snowy winter for you! We have summer now.
Thanks for your visit! I don't know the names of the plants with the big leaves, but on that second bench toadstools or mushrooms were growing!

Winter in the Far East varies from wet to wild but I never heard cold. Does it actually get cold where you live so that you must build a fire or put on woolen underwear just to keep the body warm?

Wil said it was going to be a snowy winter for you? What a meteorologist Wil is - the best. Get your woolies out.

You do get around, Ann. I always thought your moving around lifestyle was one I wanted for me. But I met Patty and she didn't want to move far so we moved once and have been stuck here ever since 1962. Before that we lived in old Tommy Rice's blacksmith shop that was so old it leaned a little to the north. It was a learning experience and the house was suitable to learn in.

It looks like there is a little blue peaking through the sky. I like the shot.

Well at least it isn't snow. :)

That looks somewhat ominous, nice photo. It's very summerlike here, warm and extremely dry. We could use some rain.
