ruby red: School makeover

http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com

The Chinese have a saying when it comes to charity," If you have money, give money, if you have energy, give energy." During my church MABC's school makeover, a lot of church members worked two days to spruce up the school. The kids and Mr. Auva the principal at Mt Albert Primary school came to thank us and presented items of song and dance from the islands of Pasifika.

I embrace the idea of sharing of one's got.
Time is often more valuable than money.
And one is old and gray. like I am, one still can make coffee and tell a fairytale.
Good on you.

To give is the most important thing. Too many of us leave it to the other and never consider that we have talents and gifts that are needed, and truly appreciated. To give of yourself is wonderful!

I agree on that Chinese proverbs. It is good to give than to receive. Happy Tuesday!

....and for a great cause too. You can't do better than helping with a school.

My Ruby Tuesday is "Skipping Rocks" - a sculpture. Come by to view if you have time today.

I like the Chinese saying. It makes sense to give of what you have, time or money.

Quite true with the chinese sayings. But once I gave a poor man some money when he claimed he was penniless, but the next thing, I saw him drinking beer in a coffee shop.

Love the idea that your church is teaching the children that helping others is so important. Cleaning up the school is an important mission for your church to participate in... Congrats.

I really like that Chinese saying. If more of us followed it we could really make a big difference in this world. It's good to see volunteers sprucing up the school.

Those days are fun but tiring, I've participated in activities like that myself.

Chinese philosophy is very simple sometimes! It's fantastic that so many people can lend a hand to refurbish a school.
