I am not sure if this is a rail yard, but I wanted to feature Queensland Australia. These photos were taken in Queensland. I watch the floods of Queensland and I remember when I was there this time last year.
A rail yard, or railroad yard, is a complex series of railroad tracks for storing, sorting, or loading/unloading, railroad cars and/or locomotives. Railroad yards have many tracks in parallel for keeping rolling stock stored off the mainline, so that they do not obstruct the flow of traffic.
I chose to take my son to an eXtreme sports rather than to motor sports. This is because I believe there can be fun without the zoom! zoom! vroom! vroom! Got over to my other stories site to know why.
http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/ Storms have dumped tonnes of water on to southeast Queensland in the last three days, flooding low-lying areas and causing homes to be evacuated.
On the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, traditional favourite holiday spots for New Zealanders, gale force winds lashed the resort towns.
Waves offshore rose to 7m while wind gusts over 100km/hr were reported.
I saw this shag at a private jetty on a private island on the Gold Coast. It took off as soon as I got near.
These little mushroom were found in a bush at Mount Tamborine in the north of the Gold Coast,in Australia. If you look directly down, you will have no idea what they are until you stoop down to the ground. Then you see they are mushrooms.
hootin--anni has a new meme. IT'S ALL ABOUT MY NEW MEME THAT I HOPE SOME WILL FEEL LIKE JOINING IN ON THE CHALLENGE AND THE FUN [at least I hope the weekly challenge will be fun!]. It's loosely based on song lyrics [recorded songs since the beginning of time to today] and associating them with photos of yours...as I've done in the past...If you click on the link above, it'll take you to the Meme's Homepage for rules and buttons. There will be a Mr. Linky Widget for each individual week also. Do consider joining me sometime. Hope to see it flourish in time. http://hootin--anni.blogspot.com/
Marion Sinclair wrote this Australian Icon and classic song, Kookaburra sits in the old Gum tree. She wrote it in 1934 for a girl guide music competition. Half a century ago, my teacher taught me to sing this song in Methodist school, Sibu. I was singing in rounds and had no idea why the king was singing in the tree, or up the tree.
Back then, there were no copyright infringement, and the song was sung by the girl guides and some schools like mine in Borneo to the mountains of America. I, LOL, when I heard about the legal spat that The Down Under men at work were sued by Larrikin that they stole their song.
I took these photos when I was in Brisbane, Australia. I was attracted by the laughing of the bird. I looked up the gum tree and saw the two kookaburras.
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree Merry, merry king of the bush is he Laugh, Kookaburra! Laugh, Kookaburra! Gay your life must be
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree Eating all the gum drops he can see Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra! Leave some there for me
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree Counting all the monkeys he can see Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra! That's not a monkey that's me
Kookaburra sits on a rusty nail Gets a boo-boo in his tail Cry, Kookaburra! Cry, kookaburra! Oh how life can be
My niece Olivia and Nephew Thomas were so cute. We walked out to sea to the the end of the pier. I asked them if there was any fish. They bent down the grills to see if there is any. You see, they are experienced fishermen.

It is the official opening of ski season, as June is the first month of winter.
It's raining, It's pouring. It's freezing here in New Zealand.
I like to be in Aussie, Where it is warm and cosy.
That's where I like to be right now, in Australia where I was in January.
In January, Sam and I were at the Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast of Australia. Once while I was happily splashing away, a tall dark and handsome lifeguard came and told me not to swim too deep. From hindsight, I told my niece, I should have pretended to faint, and he would give me a mouth to mouth resuscitation.
On the beach, a man was making a giant sand castle.
When I am at this lock at Surfers Paradise in Australia, I remember as a fourth form student, I struggled to understand how the Panama canal operates. I couldn't understand how a body of water could have different levels. Our three and fifty miles Rejang river in Borneo was just one level.
