During December, 2012 to January, 2013, we were in and around New Zealand for a New Zealand and Australia cruise on Princess. We arrived in Auckland early on December 28, 2012. Leaving our luggage at a hotel for Princess to take to the ship, we did a self guided walk-around of Auckland.

Mid morning we took a ferry and went over to Devonport. We explored that place pretty well, even climbing the little mountain/hill (Mount Victoria). Then later in the afternoon we took the ferry back to our ship.

New Zealand is a wonderful and beautiful place to visit. People we met were very friendly, just like our Texans are. The tour went around the east and south sides and then broke off to go over to Tasmania.
