weekend reflection: At the beach.

It is the shortest day,
It is pitch black.
The gale is bellowing.
The rain just pelted heavily

There is no one in sight.
No, no one would go to the beach.
At Winter solstice,
No wait, there is a solo person.

Why the solitude?
Oblivious to the hideous weather elements?
On and on, she walks.
Back and forth, she leaves her footprints.

Could she be like me?
Could she have empty arms?
Has someone died?
Could she be looking in the skies?

Hoping for a glimpse of her angel?
Alas, even the sky is setting.
Making that one last glance in the sky,
A zilch.

I just love your picture, Ann. So perfect for the summer. Nice text too.

I feel the pain echoed in the text. Where better to search one's soul than walking on the sand with the waves of the ocean lapping nearby and the warmth of the sun to caress one's shoulders.
