Mellow yellow Monday: Cleaning sign

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

In New Zealand, we have ACC or The Accident Compensation Corporation. It provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for all New Zealand residents and visitors to New Zealand.

If you have an accident where the cleaner has just cleaned the floor, you can't sue the company that employs him. The ACC will pay for your medical bills and 80% of your pre injury wages if you can't work. But the company has to pay a levee to ACC. So companies try to minimise accidents with signs like this.

The ACC Scheme provides a range of entitlements to injured people, from contribution towards the cost of treatment, to weekly compensation for lost earnings and even home or vehicle modifications for the seriously injured.

They are talking about changing the policy. Right now, you are paid ACC even if you had the accident while committing a crime which to many is really stupid.

This is very cool! We need something like this here, I don't think we have anything quite like it.

A strange policy, the last part about a crime is obviously plain wrong...

Insurance policies are changing here in Ontario. Greed is pushing the premiums way too high. People sue for any reason.

When I see any signs I really follow. But there are many people who are stupid (sorry 'bout the word) that they just want to get money and stage an accident, because they knew they can sue and get paid!! I am almost an hour going North from Detroit. ^_^ I haven't experienced going to Canada through Detroit, but we did went to Niagara Falls last 2 years ago and we go through Port Huron because hubby says it's much closer to us. Happy Tuesday!

We have similar signs over here, but our insurance scheme is very different. However, people still get compensated under stupid circumstances.

The sign reminds me of the ones I see here when a flor is wet. I agree with those who find the policy change idea stupid.

I was in PNG for less than a week but I'll always remember my time there. I didn't hear about the plane crash until you told me. So sad. :(

I need such a sign in my kitchen too.
I slipped once on the wet ceramic tiles and broke my arm.
