Watery Wednesday: Mulu Resort Fountain

At the Mulu Resort in Sarawak, I saw this fountain. I wonder if it was for decor or for the functional reasons. Having been married to a water engineer for more than three decades, I too think about function rather than decor. A fountain makes the pool of water non stagnant, thus preventing mosquitoes from breeding, and also prevents botulism. I wonder.

Hi Ann, it could serve both decorative and functional. I think it is a clever idea, making them the center of attraction!

Great shot! Pretty fountain. It is probably a little of both.

Yes moving water is a good thing, lovely, functional and healthy. As for the round spots in the ice, not frog eggs that I could tell. They looked like tiny bubbles trapped then frozen into the ice. Amazing what happens with frozen water.

It's lovely to look at and I'm sure it sounds beautiful too, like rain. Great watery image!

Its a beautiful fountain. Perhaps it is both, functional and decorative!

This is beautiful. What a pretty setting...looks like the jungle, right? I'd love to be there unless I'm surrounded by mosquitoes!
Yes, I'm an ESL teacher, too; I think I remember reading some of your teaching stories about your work on one of your blogs! Enjoy the day.
