Found at Hillsborough beach and Onehunga beach are these enormous drainage pipes. One of the perks of a water engineer's wife is going to the beach winter or summer.
They look so nice and clean. Ours, by the river, I do not think we want to get close too. They also have covers to prevent the water back flow during the flood. Have a nice weekend.

Great "D" word, Ann.. And that is one big DRAIN.
Hugs,

Drains are good, as long as they are not taking sewage into a clean environment...
I like going to the beach any time of the year.
amazing shot...
when I was five, I wandered off through a bunch of those in a park; made my parents frantic.

What huge drains - are they for rainwater to drain?
Great photos...big drains.
Those are good "drain" shots. The first one reminds me of one we had near us a kids. Loved playing in them, but dangerous, and mother didn't approve.
