mellow yellow Monday: Mr. Bean

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/
This little yellow British Leyland Mini 1000 car reminds me of Mr. Bean. My kids used to love watching the series which followed the exploits of Mr. Bean. The actor Rowan Atkinson describes Mr. Bean as "a child in a grown man's body", in solving various problems presented by everyday tasks and often causing disruption in the process.

I never liked this series and movies. But some people do, and it made millions and won a few awards. He even made a movie where he went to USA in "The Ultimate Disaster Movie."

Did you ever watch Mr. Bean?

Mellow yellow Monday: Roller

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

This chap was driving his roller machine up and down to flatten the ground after the digger had dug up the asphalt of the school grounds. It was drizzling, and he was still working.

He was getting bored and waved at me when I stuck my camera through the fence. I gave him a thumbs up. My students asked what I was doing in the rain and why I took his photo. I didn't tell them I blog.

mellow yellow monday: Child's plaything

This little plaything is on top of a spring. Children sit opposite each other and rock. Little children need very little to be satisfied.

mellow yellow: Oil cans

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

http://annkschin.blogspot.com/2010/02/sunday-stills-letter-g.html

On Sunday, I did a post on my other site about people depositing rubbish, and it is my against my philosophy of being a rubbish ambassador. In Auckland, if you dump rubbish except on the special week of inorganic collection, you will be fined.

These yellow cans stood up like a sore thumb, and I went to have a look. They were Canola oil cans.

I do not use Canola oil. A few years ago, a Canadian friend sent me an email Is Canola Oil Hazardous to Your Health? http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/blcanola.htm

I don't know to believe it or not, so to play safe, I do not use Canola oil. I use soya oil and olive oil.

However, Canola oil must have done their marketing homework very well. In some supermarkets, they only stock Canola oil.

May be you have heard of Canola oil, do you use it?

Mellow yellow Monday. Birthday of the King of Thailand

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

5 December is the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's longest reigning monarch. Known in Thai as 'Wan Chalerm', the occasion is marked by an outpouring of love and reverence by Thai people throughout the kingdom and around the world.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, or King Rama IX, ascended the throne on 9 June 1946. The King has won a special place in the hearts of the Thai people through his combination of devotion to the welfare and development of his people, and a keen understanding and awareness of political and social issues.

Yesterday, the Thai people in Auckland celebrated this day at Rocket park at Mt Albert. I went to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the lovely cuisine.

I admire the vegetarian platform they erected. The colour was very yellow and so is the cloak/robe of the king.

The King Country and Waikato region of Centre North Island in New Zealand are rich farm land. I see many farm vehicle companies. I was going down to Waitomo when I snap these diggers.
