Out in West Auckland in Henderson, they were fixing their bridge. They were fixing half of the bridge at one time, so that cars can pass at one direction.

It can slow down traffic and give you opportunities to take shots. :)
Great series.

That would seem scary, it would make me nervous to cross a brisge that was being worked on.

HI Ann
Sure looks busy when they are fixing the bridge.

How many generations away from China... 3 generations on my dad's side, and Mom's side was in Malaysia for a long long time - no one could tell for sure! About 10 week's holiday - it's cold downunder, so we try to get away as much as possible!

Penang bridge has gone through that moment two years back. The traffic is much improved now by having one extra lane.

BTW, it is not "pantang" to have your very long long comment in my blog.

For a second there I thought it was the San Francisco Golden Gate bridge. Nice shot!

«Louis» apologizes that he wasn't able to comment yesterday (Sunday) on your contribution to Sunday Bridges.

In response to your question, the sticks you see in the water are the remains of an old pier that had been built on Albany Point. Albany Point was used for many years as a dumping ground for construction waste. This dumping was banned in 1984 and the point is slowly reverting back to nature.

It's unpleasant but it must be done.
The last photo is like a beautiful postcard.

Bridge repairs really slow up traffic, don't they? At least users didn't have to drive the long way around to get to where they were going.

Hi, Ann!

That is really a beautiful shot of the bridge.

Have a great week

I like the fact that you consider a construction sight scenic. I took some pictures while at a grimy car workshop yesterday and those unsightly venues are scenic to me too. I had a field day shooting of course.
