My sisters Helen and Grace went to visit a Chinese Temple in Singapore with their kids. Do look at what Helen and Grace are wearing. I surmise that they were asked to wear this wrap-around skirt.
Once we went to the Royal Palace and Temple in Bangkok. I had to rent a wrap-around skirt because my knee length shorts revealing my legs were disrespectful of their Gods.
It just makes me think that "When in Rome, do what the Romans do."

Well, that is a very interesting picture! I noticed their matching skirts right away! I thought maybe they had just dressed alike because they are sisters!

Even in mosque , a visitor is asked to cover up moderately and not show too much skin. Not wearing headscarf is acceptable , just not short, mini skirt,sleeveless, spagatti-strap....

Beautiful column. Interesting note on the skirts. Used to be at some private clubs if you didn't have a tie and jacket to wear in the dining room management would provide them to you.
may be they have to be barefoot too inside the temple.Grace looks very much like you
The long skirts, I assume, would allow modesty if your sisters were wearing shorts or short skirts.

Hahaha right, that is always my hubby told me, but now I don't hear it more I guess because he thinks I won't do what the romans do hahaha. I remember wrap around skirt was a fashion when I was in college. ^_^
I had the same experience in Bangkok.
