Watery Wednesday

http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/

This little jetty is on the Singapore side of the Causeway. Across is Malaysia. You can see how narrow the strip of water is. The photo gives an illusion that you can walk across to Malaysia.

Often people try to enter the country illegally by themselves or victims of a human trafficking syndicates. Sometimes, they are given flimsy devices and thrown into the water to fend for themsleves.

When I look across, I am often reminded of when I was sitting in a park in Windsor, Ontario, I often look across Detroit River and wonder how it would be like to swim across and be an illegal alien in USA. If only the water wasn't so cold with ice blocks flowing down the river. Brrr!!!!

That swim doesn't sound like much fun with it being so cold, but great photo here.

Happy WW

Those Island are quite close together, while our island is quite a way from New Zealand or Tasmania it would take some stamina to swim all the way and please keep the sharks away!
