ruby red: School makeover
http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com
The Chinese have a saying when it comes to charity," If you have money, give money, if you have energy, give energy." During my church MABC's school makeover, a lot of church members worked two days to spruce up the school. The kids and Mr. Auva the principal at Mt Albert Primary school came to thank us and presented items of song and dance from the islands of Pasifika.

What an awesome saying...If you have money, give money, if you have energy, give energy....and it works too, doesn't it.
I love the ruby red slippers...so cute.

有钱出钱, 有力出力.
I like that saying!
love this!
I embrace the idea of sharing of one's got.
Time is often more valuable than money.
And one is old and gray. like I am, one still can make coffee and tell a fairytale.
Good on you.
to-day is a day off and this looks like too much work to handle, How ever what a great write up to-day, and yes I like the pic!!!!
congrats on your new school makeover.
To give is the most important thing. Too many of us leave it to the other and never consider that we have talents and gifts that are needed, and truly appreciated. To give of yourself is wonderful!
I agree on that Chinese proverbs. It is good to give than to receive. Happy Tuesday!

p/s: Yup, that picture was taken in Malacca ;)
Wonderful saying. So simple. So easy. So perfectly right.
....and for a great cause too. You can't do better than helping with a school.
My Ruby Tuesday is "Skipping Rocks" - a sculpture. Come by to view if you have time today.
ANNI'S RUBY TUESDAY
I like the Chinese saying. It makes sense to give of what you have, time or money.
Love the Chinese saying. Lots of red there. Great entry, Ann.
Happy Ruby Tuesday

Quite true with the chinese sayings. But once I gave a poor man some money when he claimed he was penniless, but the next thing, I saw him drinking beer in a coffee shop.
Love the idea that your church is teaching the children that helping others is so important. Cleaning up the school is an important mission for your church to participate in... Congrats.
Hugs,
Betsy
I love the energy in your first shot!
I really like that Chinese saying. If more of us followed it we could really make a big difference in this world. It's good to see volunteers sprucing up the school.
What a great project and I love the Chinese saying.
That is a fantastic saying! We should all live by it. ;)
I love the idea of giving energy and time to something.
I do like the saying! How nice that everyone helped out with a make-over.
Proof again that things can get done if we apply ourselves!
Those days are fun but tiring, I've participated in activities like that myself.
Chinese philosophy is very simple sometimes! It's fantastic that so many people can lend a hand to refurbish a school.
