When I drive passed these contempory houses, I couldn't help but sing to myself, Little Boxes, little boxes. These look more like boxes than a suburban house.
"Little Boxes" is a song written by Malvina Reynolds in 1962 that lampoons the development of suburbia and what many consider its bourgeois conformist values.
1. Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
2. And the people in the houses
All go to the university,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same. 3. And they all play on the golf-course,
And drink their Martini dry,
And they all have pretty children,
And the children go to school.
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
And they all get put in boxes
And they all come out the same.
4. And the boys go into business,
And marry, and raise a family,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

Well that's a first for me! Never heard that cute little song before.
Have a beautiful day filled with sunshine and smiles!
This is exactly why my children left the house at an early age( 17 and 16 years old) and went to live in a squat. At the time we were devastated, but now they all are grown ups, I understand them better.
Thanks for your kind words on my blog.
The driver who caused the accident died. He was a lonely, very quiet man of 37 and didn't mix with other people. Who knows how desperate he must have felt.
i love it! so cute! those houses do look like little boxes lol!
