Pasifika Festival

Kia ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, ni sa bula vinaka, kia orana, fakaalofa lahi atu, kam na mauri, taloha ni, greetings.

Pasifika Festival is one of the largest free community events in the South Pacific and is organised by Auckland City Council.

This year's Pasifika Festival will take place on one day - Saturday, 14 March, from 10am to 5pm. Saturday, 14 March. It is held at the pictureque Western Springs Park, Western Springs, Auckland and entrance is free

Pasifika Festival is a one-day cultural festival of the South Pacific. Auckland is the biggest Polynesian centre in the world. Participating countries are Samoa, Tonga, Fiji. Tokalau, Cook Islands, New Zealand Maoris,  and so on.

There is all-day entertainment on three main stages, 10 cultural villages spread throughout the park - each featuring traditional foods for sale, stalls selling traditional and contemporary wares - and entertainment on local stages.

As well as traditional and contemporary entertainment, workshops, demonstrations, stalls and food, the festival will feature a new Sevens rugby tournament with premiere Auckland rugby teams as well as demonstration games of soccer and rugby league. Go and buy the Hangi.

I did my PR for this festival by inviting this event to my adult and children ESOL students. I told them it was a good opportunity to get to know New Zealand.

I will be manning one of the Zero Waste rubbish station at the Maori Village and spread the message of recycling. If you see me, come and say Hi.

I am sure I would enjoy that festival; it is great to experience music from other cultures.

This must be a very interesting gathering and festival of music, traditions and food to sample. I hope you have good weather. We have at the moment cyclone weather, lots of rain, I don't complain.
