When I do pictures in Blogger, it asks me if I want left, center, or right, large, medium or small, and I just do it. Not sure how to solve your problem, I'm afraid.

pps ~ to change width of post ~ need to change it with blogger advanced ~ explore and play and you will get it close to where you want ~ it may be the style template that you used but that can be altered.

Love the cute chinese costumes. I find the new format very confusing and lots of mistakes. Took me forever to load the photos.
